Remote Plans December 8th-14th
Good Morning Talbot Families!
This week we are going to learn about Hibernation on our activity board Wednesday so be sure to check SeeSaw for the link! You have all been working so hard at stretching out words and really listening for the sounds that you hear. This helps you become great readers and writers! You can practice that at home too when you are doing your remote work! This week during math time we will continue to compare numbers and recognize quantities. What are some ways you could compare at home? You could look at the number of pillows on your coach or bed to see which has more. You could see if you have more hardcover books or paperback books. You could be a weather checker and see how many cloudy days there are in a week compared to sunny days. There are so many different ways to practice your skills at home.
Parents: You may want to take a look at this site for some at home ideas. There is a whole section for parents/caregivers that can offer tech help, routines, math and reading activities and so much more. Completely optional of course but it's a great resource.
Please have your child check their SeeSaw on remote days. The activities below are for your child to do if you cannot access SeeSaw and to provide more hands on activities to develop their fine motor skills.

Good Morning Talbot families! This week in Kindergarten we are starting our Reading and Writing Workshops. We have worked so hard on our letters and sounds for the first weeks in Kindergarten and now it's time to put what we've learned to use! We will be writing beginning sounds to label pictures that we draw and doing sorts by beginning sounds to reinforce what we have learned. In math we have just started unit 2 and our focus today is counting with a tool that we all have, our fingers!
Below are some videos for you to watch today. The first is a read aloud called Arnie the Doughnut, the second is a beginning sounds song, then a finger counting math video and last a Cosmic Kids Minecraft Yoga adventure! Have a terrific day 😀

We have been having a little taste of winter lately with our the cold temperatures and frosty windows. Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for these cold days. Hats, warm jackets and gloves or mittens are essential for the students to be able to enjoy their time outside. Layers for inside of the classroom are also helpful; long-sleeved shirts, sweatshirts, etc.
We spend as much time as possible outside because fresh air is the safest air!

Remote Day for All!
Hello Families!
Today is the first Remote Learning day for all Kindergarteners. Please make sure that you are checking your child's SeeSaw account so they can see a morning message from their teacher and also any assignments that have gone out. This is also one way that we are able to take attendance on remote days.
On Wednesdays we will be assigning a choice board for students. It has fun learning activities that will provide practice in things that we have been working on in school. Today's board includes a Let's Find Out science reader about apples, a couple of read aloud books, a fun counting math game, a letter and number tracing game, some wiggle breaks and an art activity. Not all of the activities need to be completed so you can pick 2-3 or complete them all.
Please see the link below for additional help for setting your child up on SeeSaw
Still have questions? Please send your child's teacher an email, we are always happy to help.

Check out the virtual art show that Mr. Hart put together! He took art projects that you shared with your teacher and made a slide show. There are art pieces from every grade level so it may take some time before you see something that you made. We have some great artists at Riverton!
Click on this link Virtual Art Show to see all the amazing projects!
Please see today's announcements below.
Today we have a video from our friend, Mrs. Ahiyya who teaches Kindergarten in New York. Have any of you ever been to New York? She wants to talk a little bit about what is going on in our country and in the world right now. She talks about race and also shares a very important read aloud. We have many different races at Riverton school, and remember that is what makes Riverton SO great! If everyone was the same life would be pretty boring.
